Guinness, Beamish, Murphys (yes I know that am a heretic for drinking all 3 and not sticking to just one of them -and admitting to it). Stout ales, porters and a few dark bitters. English and Irish beverages for me.

Basically, the darker the ale, the more likely I am to enjoy it.
Lots of volume and character.

I dont drink pilzner or lager. Not enough taste for me.

And American beer is (usually) like making love in a canoe.... :-)

nectar of the gods!

Guinness irish stout! Guinness is good for you!

Murphy irish stout ale. Why is it only a picture, and not real in my hand?!
If I have to choose one, this would be it!

Beamish irish stout ale! MMMMmmmmmmm....

Latest favourite is an ale called 'fursty ferret' - I'm a bit of a real ale bore but I'll happily drink lagers, as long as they're not American - How can a country with that many beer drinkers keep producing gnats p**s so regularly is beyond me - Look at Belgium, tiny in comparison yet produces hundreds of different beers, most of which taste great and are guaranteed to have you waking up in a gutter after three pints!

A friend of mine from Houston, over a round of golf, explained it to me that when Bud and Miller went to war over the millions of loyal beer drinkers in Texas the two beverage monoliths both realized that Texans cared least about taste and surprisingly cared more about two things -- 1) Is it cold? and 2) Which is on sale?

Personally my favorite beer is: New Castle Brown Ale

Im a real ale bore i like it local and out of cask which in east anglia means various types of IPA or Abbott ale Adnams broadside and Woodfordes Wherry .
Im a fan of Belgian beer to and when im in London i will check out whats on offer at Belgo's or Lowlander in covent garden.
Its a mystery why American beer is so poor perhaps they keep all the good stuff for themselves and flog us the dross,or perhaps its like processed cheese and theyve reasoned that if it doesnt taste of anything much people cant dislike the taste .

Tasmanian Beer is pretty good.

I reckon Cascade is the best "keep a few in the fridge for when you feel like one" beer

no Billy, we dont wear those hats.

The corks get in the way when we ride our Kangaroos to work. All that jumping up and down....

my fave Canadian beer is Steamwhistle Pilsner...might be very local to Toronto, though...other Canadian brews I'll choke down without much fuss are Kokanee and Sleeman's Cream Ale...

as for Japanese beers, Sapporo Lager, when I could find it, and Yebisu...also partial to Kirin Icni-ban Shiburi...

best beer ever from all other points international was Monteith's Golden Lager...man, how I wish you Kiwi's exported the stuff...

and to dim and billy...no, American beer is just awful...
