I will be traveling to Rio in the end of February to take in the sights and sounds of Brazil. Any K4L members out there want to show me and my friends around? Osu!

I'm from Brasil, i don't live in Rio de Janeiro (THANKS GOD !!) , i live in a State neighbour by Rio.

What i can tell you , be carefull in all of moments. Rio lives now something like a civil war, 2 paralel powers police x traffickers, what needs the intervention of Federal Governmment with the National Force. Shootings can be see all moments around the city. Thieves approach the buses of airport with turist, all taking m-16, AK-47 and automatic pistols.

If something like this happen, please, don't resist, they shoot without think twice.

Of course, these things dont happen always but the current statistics showing 70% of the cases.

Don't trust in anyone who wants show you some place or something. 100% probaly is a trick.

Can be strange a brazilian to critizice your owns but unfortunately is a truth. A lot of us want the Rio separated of us.

Yes, I've heard of all that's going on in Rio. It's a shame. I even saw City of God. But, coming from Los Angeles and knowing full well what drugs and gangs can do to a beautiful city, I am ready.

RIO DE JANEIRO IS ONE BEAUTIFUL CITY!

So this post comes from my 3rd day here in Rio. I must say, hands down, Rio has some fantastic music, people, architecture, beaches, and weather that would easily put to shame Hawaii, Miami, Southern California, Phuket, Pattaya... maybe even Ibiza. Yesterday I got to watch a soccer (futbol) match -- Flamengo (my new favorite Brazilian team) vs. Vasco. Flamengo won after a 1-1 draw in a shootout. Amazing!

Must I repeat that the women here are amazing!!

A bit late, after the first postings hehehe, but apart from misere mostly happening in the favelas, Rio is thje most beautiful big city in the world when it comes to the people,the music , the nature, the way of life, sensuality. It coould have probably a bit more invasions of kyokushin schools! nowadays the are only a few, 2 or 3.

smoothsake, forget Flamengo. You have to be a PALMEIRAS supporter. Remember this:
Flamengo, Corinthians, São Paulo, Vasco, Atlético Mineiro, Botafogo, Cruzeiro and Fluminense are bad.
Palmeiras is the top, you'll be more happy supporting us. xD
