It's Friday....the end of the week; what did you learn this week?

My head has been full of karate for the last few months....so...

I learned that the most important part of a promotion test isn't the physical, it's preparation of the mental strength for that day. Having confidence in all the hard training and work done in the previous months is key.

This week I learned bassai dai, just need to practice it like mad so it flows like water when I perform it.I also learned that if you tell a women you are going to call her later, call asap or its the dog house for you

Thank you for this - I have my 2kyu grading next weekend and as ever am nervous - I have a very poor memory and have always struggled with retention but when it comes to gradings I just go blank when asked to do anything, I have failed more gradings than anyone else I know.

I know the stuff - do it week in week out, even assist at the club but just blank out - when I saw your note it struck a cord, it gave me something to focus in on this week so thank you.

This week....hmmm, I learned that newly owned restuarants, even in NY, need time to get their staff trained---who would have thought that a simple Greek lunch (staff Christmas lunch) would require 2 hours, to serve 10 people...

I learned this week that you shouldn't always bend to ppls wants, but do the right thing. I learned that you need to be sensitive to your instincts and evaluate them quickly and hesitate less. I found out that my first instincts were correct, but i hesitated, and decided based on my heart instead of my head. I ended up not doing the right thing.

This asks more questions than it answers - very intriguing...first instinct are always right so why do most of the time they wait until they're hindsight to start shouting at you?

I learned today that a friend in real need still may not have the courage to ask for help and that to trully be there for someone you need to give help not just offer it.

I have learned that you should never give up without a fight, and sometimes going outside the defined line of authority gets you the results you need....

(Travel Unit jerked me around on my flights for my trip on Saturday....and after my assistant fought them tooth and nail, we penned a letter so the head of HR could sign and send to the travel unit....problem solved, I get the flights I need to be on!)
