Ok well im back guys and thanks for the post to madflojo, the only reason i posted was because i was honestly confused, why would a good friend of mine want to start a fight? and yes i know I did the wrong thing and i blaim myself for that, but like i said only reason for the post was to understand a little more of why my friend would get into a fury or anger want to stoop his level to fight, which never happened in the end. And no it wasn't worse off then that nothing serious happened to anyone physically. As for everyone else he hasn't shown up at the locker room for the last 2 days either because he comes late or isn't coming at all. Either way im still looking forward to resolving the problem.

Fights do happen sometimes if this happened outside of the dojo i would say its probably not going to be a big deal as long as you both can put it past you. Inside the dojo you have the whole respect to one another and respect for the dojo thing.

I agree, there is no fighting inside or outside the dojo that isnt part of a lesson (sparring or grading or dojo competition). In my old dojo my shihan would tear you a new one (so to speak)

I think the two of you should read and digest the words in the Dojo kun. If I thought any of my fellow students (I am Shodan) had behaved like this, I would be having strong words with them. There is a lot more to karate than "how hard you can hit" or "how you can take a kick or punch". There is certainly no place for arrogance or self importance.
"If you are able to take the full blow of a fellow man and feel nothing, do not brag of your ability; for the next time they may not be so kind as to attack you the same way". (Alexander, G, 2008). Patience, appreciation and above all "Respect". Learn and digest my friend. OSU |
