Knife attack in Akiba
This is a horrible piece of news. Today in the afternoon seven people got killed by a guy wielding a survivor knife in Akihabara, Tokyo. This guy drove a rented car from Shizuoka in the morning to Tokyo. It is said that this guy was not on drugs.

This is very sad... Edmonton I think has earned the unofficial title of "stabbing capital" of Canada recently. I heard on the news that 4 or 5 separate (reported) stabbing incidents occurred in one night!

Plus we topped the murder stats for Canada in 2007 too.

One thing that makes me shudder is the age of most victims. They were all in their physical prime in theory.

About 17 to 18 people got stabbed and for those who unfortunately passed away, except for one who was 74, the others were from 19 to 33 and most of them in their 20's, two of them were very young girls.

Im sure it is a great chock to Japan, which othewise is regarded as one of the safest countries in the world regarding voilent crime.
The Hero of the day is the lone policeman that managed to disarm him.

Unfortunately two victims, one dead one injured, were added to the list yesterday night when an attacker went berserk in a bookstore in the station building of Hachioji-eki in Tokyo.

Was it a knife attack again Kaka san? So many deaths and serious Injuries in the UK and Ireland from kife attacks recently - its just crazy.
