Haha, you sure it wasn't your bud creeping up on you?

That's how I felt about the book Ksan mentioned (Uchideshi in America). Not that it wasn't entertaining, just that the love story was very unrealistic, a little cheesy, and not really necessary. I would have liked if Saiko Shihan would have kept the story only on the hardship the student was going through.

I'm certain I was alone. My bud as well as everyone else in the party was accounted for in another part of the house. I was facing the door when it creaked open and heard the floorboards strain with each step although no one I could see was walking.

I'm not saying it was a religious experience-ie. a jealous god's attempt to nudge me in line. It was more along the lines of a PG Steven King experience.

I finished reading "My Journey in Karate the Sabaki way" by Kancho Joko Ninomiya

http://www.amazon.com/dp/1583940170?...2VNV0JEPXR4ED&

Pretty good read. It actually was quite a page turner.

I loaned it to my bro and will probably pass it off to all of my friends interested in Martial Arts.

Currently I have a massive backlog of Manga and Comics to read. (Yes I am a nerd)

After trying to finish Eric Hobsbwam's Age of Extreme, I put on an interlude with my newly arrived paper-back of Terry Pratchett's Making Money

Oooh, Terry Pratchett. I'm considering taking up Discworld once I finish The Wheel of Time. If the books are as good as the games, it'll be quite enjoyable.

I'm currently reading 'Zen in the martial arts' by Joe Hyams. I've enjoyed it so far. It's very short, though and the chapters could have been a tad bit longer. ^_^

Osu! jcc, I'm fairly acquainted with rodents, having lived in NYC. One time while reading in the student lounge at Uni., a large gray mass sped past and dove under a radiator cover. It was the size of a Labrador pup. The rat was so big, I could hear it wheezing behind the wall. Didn't do much reading after that either. Dormice, probably not but I'm open to any explanation.

Biggist military blunders of the past century (title is similar, I'm not at home to see the cover and remember exactly). I haven't started it yet though.

Just finished Gang Leader For a Day, excellent book about a sociology student in Chicago who hangs out with the local gangs and studies their culture for his masters thesis.

I'm actually a fast reader, but I only get to read while commuting in the morning. Before I've had my coffee, mind, so it's a slow process because I sometimes have to skip back because I didn't really get it. I fail to function without caffeine.

Osu! Have you read "Monster" by Sanyika Shakur? It's and autobiography of an LA gang leader which was published in the mid 90's. It's a gripping first-person account of gang-banger life on the street and behind bars.

The three I've been kicking butt on these past few days:

(1) The Way of Sanchin Kata, by Kris Wilder (I read this sucker a lot if you've noticed :P)
(2) Point Man, by Steve Farrar (book on being a good Christian man, husband, and dad)
(3) Into the Devil's Den, by Dave Hall and Tym Burkey (true life story of an FBI informant who exposed a terrorist plot planned by the Aryan Nations)
