This is how I think all budo styles should train. I think many karate groups are too insular and either don't compete at all or just compete in there own competitions under their own rulesets. It's great that these people are constantly testing themselves and putting their training to the test under different rules.

I agree with ojgsxr6. I think too many styles only fight under there own organizations rules. It is good to train under different rule sets. Also, by fighting in other organizations tournaments you can meet many knew people and gain experience.
