which style?
hello to everyone im new to the forum and would like peoples opioinon on styles. ive trained in both enshin and kyokushin and theres aspects i enjoy about both' what suprises me about enshin is how the basics have been so reduced from kyokushin. theres no ida geko[spelling] but alot of emphasis on scenario applications. are there many on this forum who have trained in both or ashihara who could share their thoughts on both styles good and bad. for me i found there was way to many basics in kyokushin but i know for some this is what makes kyokushin so strong. i suppose im am getting peoples opionion because im torn on which style i will eventually go with' so any advice will be appreciated thanks in advance.

Im a Kyokushinkai man but ive trained at an Ashihara and attended Enshin courses and thoroughly enjoyed them, the reason i do Kyokushin is the enviroment at that particular dojo suits me very well that is ultimately more important to me than any difference in style which may be much more or less marked depending on the teacher at that dojo .
Sorry i realise that's not to helpful but thats what i think, they are still more alike than they are different they all strive for the same thing its really down to place and personality as to where you end up training . |

thanks for the reply i suppose its just interesting to get different opionions and they are both great styles, i think your right in saying the club and atsmophere has alot to do with it. i wanted to hear from people who had trained both styles so thanks once again.

I am kyokushin and i have trained at World Oyama, i have also been to some seminars of Enshin and to me as i have said before, to me it is all Kyokushin. each of the masters of these styles are connected to Sosai. they all have their flavor, sabrosa deferente de kyokushin. to me they just have more enfaces on a cirtain theory or specialized techniques that appealed to them. This is what makes kyokushin families so strong is that connection with Sosai and how eech style has somthing to offer, thats why this forum is kyokushin4life
. It's the spirit and meaning of kyokushin that is important, more than the styles. I dont know if this was any help either but i say...practice your art diligently with the spirit of kyokushin.

I have trained in kyokushin, but I have not yet experienced Enshin. I think kyokushin has given me a great foundation in knowledge and training. You learn alot it. If you want to further your understanding or knowlegde, personally it has to be experienced.

It all depends on the dojo and the people that train there .
Go there where you feel accepted and challenge yourself. try to stay with your first choice you won't regret .
