He recently fought in Heroes(MMA) and also came back to K-1, almost making to the final in K1 Hong Kong GP but he couldn't continue to the final due to an injury.
Here is a brief history of how he joined Seido Kaikan.
He started Karate (not sure which style) in kindergarden, but he really started training when he turned 18. Originally he requested his parents that he wants to do boxing but his parents was against it so he decided to take karate instead.
He enrolled in Chousen University in Tokyo, joined a karate club there. Later he participated in a Sato Juku tournament, and at the event Kancho Ishii offered him to come to Osaka to train with him after he graduated.
In the event, he lost to Shihan Kakuda(famous Japanese K1 guy). Taiei Kin says that his kicks were very heavy, and the loss shocked him so that he soon decided to join Seido Kaikan under Kancho Ishii after he graduated the university. At start, life in Seido Kaikan wasn't very easy financially as he also worked part-time, and he had this in mind that if he couldn't achieve anything in 3 years then he would quit karate.
Switching to Face Punching in Karate
One day, Kancho Ishii said to me 'Chuck gloves on.' it was a word from Kancho Ishii himself so I thought there was something(later k-1) so I responded '
Osu!'
