Ashihara Uchi Deshi in Japan
Sensei, Sempai, Kohai.

After reading the thread about Live-In Students in Japan for Kyokushin (All Styles accepted), I wanted to know the same Question. Are there Facilities in Japan for Ashihara Students (All Styles/Organisations) to train as Uchi Deshi for say a month/few months in Japan and what would the prices be????

Osu!!!!

When you are affiliated to the NIKO organization you can normally train in every dojo of your choice . With the permission or recommendation of your local branch-chief of course .
Honbu for example allows students from all over the world but training is only once a day ( in the evenings ) you only have to look for a place to stay during the period you want to train .
It is possible to do some weight training in their gym during the day .
Another example :
My Sensei trained for 2 weeks at Nishiyama dojo ( 2 sessions per day )
But of course that's in Tokio and that was rather expensive to stay .

I have once read that Ashihara (Hideyuki) Kancho abolished the Uchi Deshi system when he was still alive as he saw there were disadvantages about the system.

If you have any connections try to ask at the universitys. I heard that its pretty good and not so expensive about 2000 yen per night. I dont know if its true. I can check it out when I get there in november. If I get a answear of any one to contact I will post it as soon as possible.
