[IKO1] 8th World Open Tournament in 2003
The subject should have been who won in 2003?

As NZ Proud pointed out it should also have IKO1 in the subject but I cant edit that
しつれいしました。

I was just reading the Andy Hug v Matsui thread

Thought it was very well debated, informative and interesting.

Wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the 2007 World Final between Kiyama and Plekanov or Plekanov v Claube or Kiyama v Texeria?.

The 2007 world titles was somewhat controversial

All of these three decision had elements of controversy.

My view is that Claube probably did enough in the first two rounds to get past Plekanov. But Plekanov won the third.

Texeria beat Kiyama in first round just overpowered him Second was a draw Third was won by Kiyama

Kiyama v Plekanov too even to call Needed an extension.

Osu

This thread should also add [IKO1] in the title.
The final was a hot topic in my dojo I trained in Japan, but i was explained that how the judges disliked Plekanov rushed with his russian rush tsuki in the last 30 secs. That was his strategy to win early rounds but didn't work out for the final. I too thought it should have been another extension but yer Sensei Kiyama deserved it in my opinion. Osu.

I agree I thought Kiyama Sensei was more agreesive through the full round and gave hime 51% after one round.

I just dont know if 51% is enough to be proclaimed World Champion after some of the previous epic battles.

What about Texeria v Kiyama or Sergie Plekanov v Claube Feitosa?

Any thoughts?

Osu

Osu! In my opinion,
Texeria vs Kiyama was a very good fight! It was so close that I think there should have been another extension to claim a real winner.

Sergie Plekanov v Glaube Feitosa
I think the final decision was fair, but seeing Sensei Kiyama winning by those close decisions. I think Senpai Plekanov should of won after the 1st round.

I think Kurbanov vs Kiyama should have also gone for an extension, not a decision being given after the first 3 minutes.
