Sadly the Irish wont be there which is unfortunate as it was a very enjoyable tournament last time (Although it did end quite late).

Dear Azimuth,
Thanks for your nice photo. Hope to see the results soon (curious to know how the Yamada couple is doing). By the way is it true that the winner of each category will get a nicely cut diamond? OSU!

Anyone know the results of this comp yet? I'd particularly like to know how the British fighters did - Not that I'm biased of course...............oh okay perhaps I am!!

The british did really good. I remember two of them being in the finals in the middle-weight men. Sorry that i didn't write it down (was too concerned about my k.o.
 ). Someone from Wales second in the light-weight category who took also the Spirit-Award. And a woman in the lightweight being second after pulling out due to an injury. I'm trying to upload some pictures my Sensei took, but there aren't many from everybody, he just took a lot from us ;-)

I don't know about this year but on the first edition in 2004
the diamond of the open wheight class ( with the winners of every category) had a value of approx 5000 dollars ; )

Tournament was good... there were strong fighters from fifteen countries. Hanshi Steve Arneil and Shihan Kunihiro Suzuki were also present. The level of fighting was high and kept growing throughout the tournament.
Most impressive was a German girl who packed a very powerful punch. One of the English fighters broke 7 boards with a single technique (hiji) in the tameshiwari. Also some of the younger fighters who just came out of the juniors showed very much promisse. Overal a very good tournament with high level fighting... Osu Ksan

Hehe! It was heavy indeed! The one whit 7 boards was Miguel Fernandez! I lost to him in the quarter finals end ended up third! I tought I will never get trough five boards hiji because I didnīt pas whit shuto for 5 boards! So I waited for fernandez to break the 7. He succeeded so I tought oh well, than I can do five! hahahaha!
Heīs so strong hehehehe!
