Dear igor,
By the way I would like to know Russians think of the results? Is it a big surprise or just as expected? Anzor Shikhabakhov, as a matter of fact, is not very well known in Japan I am afraid (compared with Osipov, Stepin). I think people only remember him as the 2nd place in he first Rengokai Cup and also losing to Sumitani Osamu in the IKO-1 world tournament. OSU!

Yes, IFKK is their official name and in kyokushinresults.freeserve.co.uk Royama's group is listed under these letters. "KAN" is just our russian slang (russians call their karate "kyokushinkan").

Vasily Khudiakov showed an excellent techniqie (like all WKO fighters) and won 1 fight . In the second fight he lost.
I haven' t watched that fight (I went outside) but my father said that Segrey Melyuk took the fight by decision after first round. (because of physical pressure). |

Osu Igor!
It would be fun to hear if you could see any general differences between the groups in their style of fighting or tactics. From what I have seen before when watching DVD:s from different events is that IKO1 people tend to use more high kicks and quick in and out movements while WKO is very much into jodan hiza geri and quite many also uses the heel low kick to the outside of the leg. But that may also be due to opposition and perhaps changes when meeting other people they don't know that much. /Tobbe |

Quote:
Anzor Shikhabakhov is a famous fighter in Russia and is considered to be one of the best (he thinks of K-1 may be, rumours). Igor Titkov, Nesterenko and Stepin confirmed their level. A little bit - surprise: young light fighters from 5 till 8 places, failure of some famous fighters. New generation of promising, phenomenally talented fighters, who are ready to give "confirmed kyokushin stars" equil fights right now, that's why no many ippons and vasaris. Good judgement in general. No pure politics. More details a bit later, sorry... |

Dear igor,
You have given us great help and acutally I should apologize for asking so many questions. New question by the way. Do you know if he is going to fight in the coming IKO-1 tournament or Rengokai Cup (or when he will next be in Japan)? I am sure he will catch a lot of attention when he shows up in Japan next time. There is no hurry, come back only when you have time. Большое спасибо. OSU!

Thanks for the info Igor.
How did Kozlov do ? I expected him to be there in the final few, and Sadvoksaov too. I think the draw was not so god as Osipov and Stepin should not meet in the last 16 and Nesterenko vs Gatashev should have been later also. What about Abdurashidov, he is the best mw in the world my view, I think failed on one of the boards and this cost him in the semi final. Either way this tournament was massive and the stronget field of fighters in an event for years and a big break throught for Kyokushin to get so many top fighters from four organisations all in one event. |
