Thanks for adding the results!! Makes me feel better even though I forget my pen!
While EWERTON TEIXEIRA was the champion, he is only human... (He missed two of his breaks in tameshiwari...he was directly in front of where I was sitting) vapor |

He did well, but the size and speed of the Brazilians can not be underestimated!
There is not doubt that the crowd favorite was Senpai Slawek Was. Even Matsui Kancho seemed surprised at the level of cheering by the crowd everytime Sempai Was had his name announced. vapor |

I'd like to congratulate my fellow dojomate Soichiro-kun(7 kyu) for taking 2nd place in the 8-9 boys division. I know he trained hard (3x a week for 4.5 hrs each session). Possible future world champion. You heard it here first.

...yeah that's what I meant. Did you attend the Kancho Seminar? How many in attendance for the tournament? Who had the coolest team jackets? Any other impressions from Saturday? Do share. Osu!

I was not able to attend the Kancho seminar on Sunday...
As for Saturday at the tourney, the areana was not really full....I would guess about 300-400 people... I am glad that I didn't buy the more expensive floor tickets, because I had a great view of everything....center of the mat, about 3 rows up.... I could have sat in the front row, but figured that a couple rows higher would offer a better perspective on the fights. In terms of cool jackets...the green and white jackets that you can see in the womens photo from Canada, that JULIE LAMARRE is wearing were nice.... The amount of volunteer staff on hand was very impressive...everyone wearing the bright orange shirts with huge letters in white of KYOKUSHINKAIKAN STAFF...I am hoping that one of those comes up on ebay!!! I think that there is a lot of talent in the fighters...some were impressive, some you could tell were nervous, or at least that they did not fight to their fullest... Andrews Nakahara had a spinning kick (didn't connect though) that looked like it came out of an action movie....it was great...got a lot of cheers from the crowd! vapor |

I was also in attendance, got some pics of the knockouts. Well not in action, when they were down on the ground.
The best knockout of the nite was Anderson da Silva's kaiten do mawashi. I've never seen it land as flush as I saw it there. Overall it was a good tournament. But I believe last year's one was much better. I was hoping to see Hovhannisan fight here again, after his crazy fight with texeira last year. Ill post the pics as soon as i get them from my friend. I was on the non-Matsui Kancho side....in the bleachers, three rows up, in the very center of the mat. vapor |
