Just think that Teixiera is 25 or 26 now... maybe he'll put up the challenge and try to win it again in 2011.... ? Trying to match Nakamura's shihan achievement of being the champ of 2 world's open.... ( But I won't be shocked if he wouldn't try it...K-1 offers some nice things instead...).

Ewerton Teixeira is 25 y/o
Eduardo Tanaka is 23 y/o
Anderson da Rosa is 20 y/o

I believe those are names that you will see on the next World Tournament...
if Teixeira goes to K-1 he will not be "better" than Francisco Filho... he will only have the same achievements... so he will be on Filho's "shadow", as he already did all that before... (anyway: this is MY opinion and I don't mean that Filho's achievements are small or anything like that)

I dont think Teixeira will move to K1... I think Isobe has bigger plans for him...

I thought Filho still had some fights in his mind.

And what bigger plans? K-1 means good money for him.

K-1 is the best option. In fact, i know he's been preparing himself for K-1 for sometime now. If all goes well it will be a matter of time.

I just hope to see Kurbanov and others taking that direction.

Osu migueru 21! I didnt see the tournament but for sure they did an excellent job there. Spanish people as u and me we can be glad that in 2003 (F. Jose Carpena from IKO2 was 5th and this year Alex Navarro IKO1 he was 6th. I only can remember when Alex, Victor (both from Canary Islands, and the people from Oyamas gym we went to Tokio in 2003 to see the world championship. We went to the Honbu dojo and when they saw Alex...they delete his flight back to home!!!!! And now Alex working day by day arrived there!!!!

Thumbs up Good job
To all the boys from the Brisbane Kyokushin dojo who competed in the this tournament, I just wanted to say good on ya lads. It was an achievement in itself simply being there and competing regardless of the result. Y'all put in hours upon hours of hard work and it was good to see my training partners stick it to the best in the world.

Well done boys .

Pride no longer exists so I don't think that will be happening.

The entire tournament will most likely be available on official dvd from Media 8 within the next couple months

Until then, a number of the fights are on youtube, and these have been picked up and posted in this and other threads.

I was never really a Pride fan.... actually I used to watch UFC until the 10th or so... after that they started adding too many rules... (and right now we are running completely off of the subject...)
any way: I don't expect to see a Kyokushin Shihan fighting on MMA events...

Yeah I think I prefer to watch tournament fighting such as the 9th World as opposed to K1. Though in a hotel room in Tokyo I saw some Pride GP and that was pretty vicious and quite entertaining. Those lads were going hard.

On cable of late there has been that UFC thing from America but that does nothing for me. All they seem to want to do is grapple and win by submission. No real technique there. The first move you see the fighters attempt is tackling the opponent to the ground.
