Kumite rule
Hi everybody.
I have a question about Kumite rules. I've seen judges make a contestant sit back to his opponent when there is a Ippon. But when exactly do we make one sit back to one's opponent in a Kumite? Thanks a lot. OSU! |

Typically when there is a injury and one fighter is out of it or being examined by the doctor.
The uninjured fighter cannot leave the fight area until he is declared a winner, which is not done until the injured fighter either is capable of bowing out or is carried away. So the remaining fighter is placed in seiza, facing away, just so he will not just wander around really. Like they make fighters go to a neutral corner in boxing/kickboxing.
