Well, since kyokushinbasics.com is down, I surely could use a new website containing techniques of kyokushin. please have the techniques well described.
Sorry if this thread already exists, I only checked the first page. |

Sensei-tional answer
Osu Jap-Man. Do I detect a hint of frustration.
However, I concur. Absolute basics should be being covered in the dojo. The hunger that beginners have for vocabulary, and "how to" should be being fed by their instructors. Booklets, handouts, and sometimes, WebURLs should be provided by instuctors to back-up what is being taught in class. I dont think it's bad that this stuff is on the web, but I am a little surprised by the demand for it. |

"Osu Jap-Man. Do I detect a hint of frustration.

But as a isnstructor, I find it so frustrating... I mean even after all the years I've been in Karate, I still talk to my instuctor (who live 10 hours by car away) 2-3 times a week and ask his advice or knolwedge on issues!?! |

Generation gap
Hmm..Hope that back settles down, then.
I wonder if what we are starting to see is a generation gap, where today's youngsters don't seem really to differentiate between virtual relationships (like the forum) and face-to-face. They are equally comfortable in both environments. We old-timers (yeah, yeah..no more walking-frame jokes) are just from a different era, perhaps. (but it doesn't mean we are wrong ) |

Yes you have a point, like my parents grew up when their was no TV and phones where not as readly as they are today. Yet at 86 my mom has a cell phone and I don't ...
But I do think you have a point that I over looked!!! |

Osu everybody. Thank you Azimuth! As to the discussion regarding generation gap and so on, my sitution is different. Since I got to get up 5:20 A.M. for my summer-job, and the training starts 6:30 P.M. I am ussually tired during this day, and do skip training. I require a website only for practicing techniques, since I preobably won't train for the next 5-4 weeks. Hopefully I will train every wednesday at the dojo, and on the week-ends at home. Unfortunately, there is only training during mondays and wedensdays during the summer. But training in a Dojo is much more much and you learn more, but I simply don't got the energy for it.
