Have you considered what happens IF you pass out due to dehydration, and they will have to force liquid down your throat? How does your religion feel on that? Ofcourse, if you really passed out, maybe your fellows would simply take care of you until an ambulance comes and they will give you an IV drop - how is that?

I know that you are fasting now (or are you done at this date?), but im quite curious on the questions raised above anyways
Not all muslims are obliged to fast during Ramadan. For example, children need the daily nutrition in order to grow and stay healthy, so they are exempt from fasting. Pregnant women are also exempt. Also, if you are sick, you are not required to fast either, but you can still pray in deep submission for strength, and make up for the days you missed after Ramadan. Fasting on Ramadan is for muslims who are able to do so, and muslims can do it if their health permits. So if I were to pass out due to dehydration and it happens to be during the daytime on Ramadan, if I'm forced to take liquids or go on IV, I'm really not doing anything offensive to Allah.

I think he just did. Fasting during the ramadan is not required to be a muslim, and absorbing liquids due to extreme dehydration is not offensive. Unless I missed something?

Sure, but i was also wondering how *he* would feel about it. In his case, i dont think he would be angry, cause he doesn't seem like the quick-to-anger guy, but i cant help thinking a lot of people would be upset to hear if people did something to them that their religion didnt allow them, even if it was to save their life.

I think that it is impossible, and impractical to wonder what others may think of a personal decision.

Picasso has kindly given us his interpretation of what he would do in that circumstance, so we need to leave it at that.

Fair enough. I would like to stress, however, that i in no way was trying to look down on Picasso. I was merely trying to understand the feelings of one such religious on this matter, from a psychological standpoint

lol... no offense taken, I appreciate your curiousity. Of course I won't get angry or offended if I was forced to eat or drink during Ramadan due to health reasons. As I had mentioned, only muslims who are in good health are required to fast. If it will compromise your health, then it's not recommended.
As long as I'm not eating food that is considered haram (e.g. pork), then it's all good.
I don't consider myself to be a strict muslim, but during Ramadan, I try my best to be. All in all, I live good with everybody. I hope I've answered your question.
