Welcome to the site....looks like you are off to a running start!

Can I encourage you to go to the introductions forum and start a thread to tell us about yourself, so that we can give you a proper welcome?

I like the thread Seienchin.

For me my introduction to Kyokushin came from my first martial arts instructor. I studied under him in an incorperated system based from Tae Kwon Do but including ground fighting and Arnis (stick fighting). He had an employee who needed a training partner for some up and coming tournaments. So I helped out best I could, holding pads, light sparring etc. Now I had never even heard of Kyokushin then and was totally overwhelmed, impressed, !@#$ scared, when I saw that tournament. Like me, my wife initially thought "damn, how can they do that to each other let alone there kids" however that was nearly 4 year ago and we have learned to see the beauty in the art and the true spirit of the karateka. The guy I started training with is now my Sempai, I still train in my other style but I compliment it with Kyokushin training.

I dont train in kyokushin butwant to. My dad use to tell me stories of this karateka who fought bulls and trained in the mountains. I strarted searching for a type of karate.I looked at many different styles and then I remembered Sosai and looked up his style and have loved kyokushin since then.

I always wanted to train in Martial Arts of some kind since I was a kid.

We couldnt afford it.

When I was 14 I was given the opportunity to study Judo and Shinkendo from my best friends stepdad.

I did that for 4 years and learned alot.

Then I got really into my music and band. Thought I had a chance. We got some offers on some indy labels but the band fell apart.

My best friend went to another band and that was it.

I never went back to the Judo/Shinkendo and have not been able to get ahold of my former Sensei.

Fast forward12 years....

My brother asks me to come to Karate that his Father in Law is teaching.
Turns out its Kyokushin. I am addicted.

I do some searching and find an ENSHIN dojo close by.

Signed up for that now!

I was on my third MA, Jujitsu when my brother asked if he could come too he was only about 9 so I said no as my JJ style was 14 plus, he was very disappointed. That weekend I attended a Jujitsu Seminar and in the next room was this karate class - I had discounted Karate as I had seen several and liked none but this was different, this was Kyokushin - we both joined the next Sunday.
