His stance made it perfect for him to hide the kick. When I was taught the side kick, the teacher taught me in a side stance that short of made it obvious that I was going to do a side kick.

I didn't see it myself but I am hearing different about his fight. They were saying he didn't seem like he was in his other fights. I should see if YT has a video of the fight and decided for myself.
