Save your strength and energy - you'll feel better for it. If you feel jittery and want to do something, run through a few combinations and visualise smashing your opponents ...
On the eve of a Tournament your conditioning and skills should be built in. Get your mind right, as that's often the difference on the mat.

I think that the mental side of any sport is just as important as the physical. Tennis is a really good example of this. Sometimes you see a top player just locking up and missing shot after shot.
My advice is to relax - maybe put on a bit of music - and as Gary says visualise yourself fighting. Think about what techniques work for you and practice them in your mind. And make sure you have a good healthy meal the day before as well! Good luck.

If possible, avoid any rigorous training the day before the tourney. I know it's tough to do nothing, but try to go out to eat, watch a movie, and get to bed early. Recharging before the fight is absolutely vital to your success!
And good luck for Sunday!

So how did you handle the night before, the morning of, and the night after the event?

In this way winning is very difficult.

This is quite common as all your energy up to the tournament has been focussed on the event and once its over theres a void.

You gave yourself a very tough task, and I believe you should recognize that. Very few people are so enormously talented that they can study full time and train sufficiently to win a national tournament.
Getting to the third round is still a good accomplishment, and this could be a good motivator for next year.
