Okinawa

Link to Travel article about Okinawa....

In amongst the usual travel spin (beaches, bars etc), it finally gets to karate....

I particularly like the description of the "most revered karate instructor in the world....up a tree picking bananas"....Also describes the much to be feared "horseshoe strike".

Fun article, Seienchin!

On Okinawa Karate instructors are many, so they are more seen as real people, and less as Masters of Myth!

As for the "horseshoe strike", I think the author might be mistaken. She's probably confused the horseshoe (Unused) and the stirrup. The original Nunchiyaku was part of the bridle, and horsehair also figured as a weapon.

Pleased she mentioned the hangover part though. Very authentic!
