Hi from England
Hi guys. Im new to the forum and the art. Im 25 and have trained in taekwondo from a young age, however I've now decide to change styles and I found kyokushin to be very appealing. I would love to train in Japan one day but for now, im just excited about exploring a new art.
Anyway, Hi from me

What was the reason for the switch if you don't mind me askin ?
Only reason I ask is that I know many WTF practitioners are increasingly frustrated with the non scoring by judges of cleanly landed punches in favour of kicking attacks
Personally I love both TKD and Kyokushin but for pure fighting experience,Kyokushin just edges it for me.

I believe it was for similar reasons and the dojo is 4 mins walk from hos house.
I like ITF TKD but hate the "sine" wave they got going on!

I trained in Ga-Jok taekwondo which is itf so i cant have an opinion on wtf.
I left left because while helping out with a grading, a young lady told an examiner to f**k off during her 1st kup grading. She went unpunished and still passed her grading.
For me this killed my passion straight away simply because I personally believe discipline is the most important part of any martial art.

I practised WTF style, but also competed with the TKI (TAGB).

I guess General Choi would turn around in his grave. That is a sad indictment of where the Martial Arts is heading if such is allowed.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Ive not started yet, I start training tomorrow with Andy Rotherham in Derby. It sucks to be starting at the bottom of the ladder again but im looking forward to the change. I guess the styles will be like night and day, karate seems quite rigid in its execution while tkd is a bit more flexible. Am i right?
