sorry muay thai is harder sport. if your friends are professionals or seasoned amateurs they can take bare knuckle punches to the body. C level amateurs maybe not, but B and A class fighters yes. with experience in the clinch and receiving knees and shins to the body and head (not to mention punches and elbows), i would say they will do well in most cases. weekend warriors maybe not, but serious competitors, most definitely.
