Training Abroad

Does anyone have experiences to share of training abroad/on vacation?
How was the welcome, particularly if the dojo was a different organisation from your own, was the training harder, easier or what?
I had the "pleasure" of training in Ireland, Moscow, graded for my 8th kyu there, and Manila where I got my 4th kyu.
Personally, I feel very lucky to be part of a worldwide family and to have these great memories.
The intensity of the kumite in Moscow was a shock to me, but a great help!
I trained many times in Manila and can never forget the experience of grading in Quezon City memorial park with the sweat blinding me and my bald head bright red with sunburn, ouch! It seemed worthwhile when the instructor tied on my new belt then gave me a full force thigh kick adding "you wont forget Manila!" No chance!!
I also had the "pleasure" of a weeks training in Dublin and feel priveledged to get some of Hanshi Arneil's experience passed on through Sensei Shane (bloke) It would be nice to hear from any Russian that met me, OSU !!!
