Shinkyokushinkai Protein Kids

It seems that Shinkyokushinkai is very proactive in promoting the need of taking protein to their members.

http://www.shinkyokushinkai.co.jp/20...77;か!?/

Title: Is protein necessary for kids?

"...for the junior generation Junior Cocoa Protein is recommended. This does not only contain nutrients needed for growth, but also comes with calcium, iron, vitamin b group. When added to milk, it is as tasty as milk cocoa...the secret to the drink is morinaga cocoa..."

"...in this article Recovery Power Protein, which is loved by Tsukamoto Senshu and Tsukagoshi Senshu (and another type of protein to drink before sleep), can be purchased cheaply at the Shinkyokushin shop..."

http://www.shinkyokushinkai.co.jp/20...einsummersale/
Promotion campaign featuring current male and female world champions.

And many other feature articles with each fighter promoting the benefits of one type of protein product in their training (with sales link to the specific product in every article).

I think pure whey is amongst the cheapest source of proteins available, even compared to chicken, tuna, beans or milk.
I'll do the math, compare & post it if I get the chance to collect the necessary data.

The protein sale banner on the front page looks nice.

Protein is vital for muscle growth. The need for protein powder on the other hand is more debatable. But from what I understand, the main natural source of protein (meat) is not as dominating a part of Japanese cooking as in other places (growing up, the days I didn't eat meat was rare and far between), so maybe there is a point.

The kids Gashuku generally lasts a few days.

I guess they are building up the market for juvenile protein consumption.

Thanks - we just run from Friday to Sunday. Not sure if that is good, but let's hope they did their homework with proper studies and not just market research to benefit Weider and others ...
