Anyone Training at the New York Sato Dojo

I recently had a nice conversation with Sensei Sato after he responded to my email with a phone call so I was wondering if anyone is training out there in Manhattan since I will be trying to make the effort to get out there for a Thursday class this week. Which would in effect be my first Kyokushin class ever!

I have visited Sato-Sensei to train at his Dojo. You will certainly be in good hands at SatoDojo!

Turns out I have Jiu Jitsu out in New Jersey at Sensei Broughs this Thursday so I won't be able to head out there till next Thursday. If Sensei Fraizer keeps to what he said every other Thursday i'll be at Sensei Broughs and when I'm not there I will take the trip into manhattan to do Kyokushin. I already spoke with Sato Sensei so I'm sure he won't miss me this week.

I have never been there but certainly would love to in the future. I have not trained in Manhattan since 1995-97 and that was in Chinatown

I am training at two seperate dojos 4 - 5 days per week. One in NJ (Kyokushin) and one in Suffern. NY (Hybrid - Shotokan - kungfu - jiu jitsu).

Any way, enjoy your visit A.W. and let us know how it was for you.

Took my first class there tonight great experience for my first kyokushin or should I say shinkyokushin class ever. The class was a great size and Sensei Sato really helped make the transition as easy for me as possible. It was a great two hour session. OSU!!

Well, I guess you saw my Shihan, Kanamura shihan there in Budapest. I couldn't have been at two location at once.

Osu, American Werewolf!
It was good to meet you at my dojo. As you experienced today, the class is very mild and gentle just like me.

Has anyone told you Sato-san, you look like your Shihan (perhaps the moustache)!

Or you have been practising and teaching 分身の術 (muliplying oneself), a part of the old Kyokushin syllabus?

I guess you are the first person to mention that ever in my life.

In addition, I don't wear my moustache anymore.

Now I look much younger

I've enjoyed every chance I had to train with Sato-sensei. Do you plan on training regularly at Satodojo?
