I'll give it back when I'm darn good and ready!

I heard he wants to get back into MMA. I would like to see how he would fair now. For a minute, I didn't know he use to do it back in the day until I seen an old UFC video of him.

I am a big fan of Semmy. It was an MMA bout of his, that actually brought mixed-martial-arts to my attention, several years ago ( SS won that bout too! ).
With his total dominance of K-1, I would love to see Semmy return to MMA and take a run at the UFC Belt.
Thanks for sharing the videoclip.
Osu!

Great video! I became a fan of Semmy through K-1 and after doing some research became interested in his style of ashihara. This led me to Enshin and my new journey. Just wanted to say thanks to Semmy! I really wish he would do a seminar in the eastern part of the United States! (hey-I can dream!)

Semmy is a nice person and a book just released "Full Contact Karate Training" by Jurgen Hoeller & Maluschka Axel has a foreword by him and focusses on Ashihara Karate training methods.

myself with Semmy after our Summer camp some years ago in Holland. Picture taken at Dave Jonkers dojo in Zuidlaren. As you can see, I'm tiny against the gentle giant ...
Should you ever make it to Holland, then your wish would be granted!

Man he's huge! Exactly how tall is Semmy? I like the way he fights. Simple, yet so strong and effective.

From his official web site:

Semmy Schilt (27 - 10 - 1973) is two meters twelve, shoe size fifty and weighs 132 kilos.
|
One of my friends, fought at the world tournament in Budapest. She absentmindedly stepped into an elevator, and found herself walking right into the stomach of Sem Schilt. The mental image of the small girl and the huge tower of a man bumping into each other in a cramped elevator is just too funny.

I had to do the conversion, so thought I might as well share with my non-metric using friends:
Height - 6'10"
Weight - 291 lbs
That's a big dude!!!

He is big indeed. I'm a mere 5'6" in comparison - won't even be able to budge him.

I'm still finding it funny how some people hate on this man. He seems humble, friendly, and approachable. I definitely am not playing him in a game of basketball. LOL!!!

Hummmmm, I am thinking that I'd have better chances at basketball than on the mat...
But that's just me...

LOL! Yes, if the measure is number of bruises and broken bones I'd go for the basketball too
