bulking like Evander and Ross

http://www.sportsci.org/news/news9709/hatfield.html
I thought this type of regimen might be be of interest to anyone interested in putting on lean mass and improving conditioning. The above article is a little old, but there's lots of good stuff in it. Actually, I'm not too crazy about the bodybuilder type exercises, and would substitute more whole body exercises and routines along the lines of Ross Enamait's hard-core mass gaining experiment (http://www.rosstraining.com/articles/hardcore.html), but you can't fault the results.

Anyone know Kentaro Tanaka's email address?

Interesting.

I like the ideas behind it but I think that Ross made an easier to follow version.

Either way that is a good way to get ready for a big fight or a say Sandan/Yondon test..

Thanks for the rep guys! Before I heard of Ross, it was Evander Holyfield who impressed me with his ability to bulk-up while maintaining condition and mobility. Actually, the first article says Holyfield improved his conditioning even as he got bigger. Ross, I agree, accomplishes the same thing in a simpler manner: train hard, avoid Long Steady Distance running, eat big. Both articles demonstrate that you can move up in weight without suffering the consequences of conventional bulking methods: flab, loss of mobility, loss of stamina.

A recent discussion about Japan's inability to field big, fast, strong contenders prompted me to dredge up these articles. It frustrates me to watch Kentaro Tanaka get tubbier, and hear the lamentation that the days of Yamaki and Kazumi are gone. Pft. Drop the doughnut and pick up the gauntlet.
