Thanks for the rep guys! Before I heard of Ross, it was Evander Holyfield who impressed me with his ability to bulk-up while maintaining condition and mobility. Actually, the first article says Holyfield improved his conditioning even as he got bigger. Ross, I agree, accomplishes the same thing in a simpler manner: train hard, avoid Long Steady Distance running, eat big. Both articles demonstrate that you can move up in weight without suffering the consequences of conventional bulking methods: flab, loss of mobility, loss of stamina.
A recent discussion about Japan's inability to field big, fast, strong contenders prompted me to dredge up these articles. It frustrates me to watch Kentaro Tanaka get tubbier, and hear the lamentation that the days of Yamaki and Kazumi are gone. Pft. Drop the doughnut and pick up the gauntlet.
