the sosai oyama figure was more expensive(obviously), i would say a waste of money for me, i would rather invest in a 100$ karate book or an instructional dvd to get something meaningful out of my money , than buying karate figures! (Probably if i was 10 years old, then yes coz i have had a huge collection of ninja turtles figures ).
It could be these figures are geared towards kid, but they are ridiculously expensive!.

As oppose to buying a kenji midori figure , I am really interested in buying the Born to be Strongest: Kyokushin Karate Instructional - 4 DVD Set by kenji midroi, but its very expensive, even though i am sure its worth every penny and i will get a lot of information out of it !

Buying the figure, you have fun immediately. Buying the "100$ karate book or an instructional dvd", you need to understand the content, find techniques suitable for your own level, have people at the Dojo who can help you to practise those techniques so that you not only "can do the technique", but can actually hit moving people, stop them and make them feel painful. Much more investements of time and money than perhaps that $100.

Many adults collect these figures and there are even museums displaying these figures. Is it art? Perhaps, I do not know. These figures are like to many people a painting, a piece of music or a sculpture to be put at home.

-The Dent figure will be sold in a pair with a plumber for a "training partner" and a shovel to bury the evidence
-The FredinChina figure will come with a flight of stairs and a shoulder wrap
-GJEC will have a cord in his back you can pull and he'll say things like "TNS!" and "This one will be easy, I promise!", and he'll be sold with a deck of cards with 52 jokers in it.
-Seienchin will be in the form of a kind looking teddy bear and will also have a pull cord - her sayings will be extremely wise and reassuring. Incidentally, this one will likely be the most dangerous figure of them all...
-Hangtime will come with a .50 cal machine gun and lots and lots of ammo
-The meguro figure will be able to knock out 50 burpees before you can blink, and...
-kakatootoshi will have a big sign on his back pleading for you to use the search function
