Chasing 200!
My official Entry here!
I was chatting with Powerof0ne the other day on FB, and during our chat we spoke about the work out Journals and how I wasnt fond of them. A trip to the bathroom scale, after getting out of the shower changed all that!!! Now I am in need of it.
I got on the scale and it said 331 lbs/150 kilo.........a sick feeling shot through my body, so I stepped off, took a deep breath, exhaled and said "must be broken, let me try again" "AH HAH!!! 329lbs" I knew it was off!! no way could I possibly weigh 331 lbs!!!!!!!! Musta been the air in my body!!
This was over the weekend.....I checked this morning and I was 324.4 lbs. This is not a great loss folks, nor is it a start........this is the weight I was two weeks ago when I panicked about "what to wear, nothing fits!". thought I was behaving my self with regard to food........Until I saw 331/329
I went to the Big and Fat Guy store to find some clothes this weekend only to find that I need to pay TOP DOLLAR for fashions that Bert and Ernie gave to Oscar back in the 1970s!! I asked the Sales Clerk a few questions.
a.) Whats with the Bert and Ernie stripes on all the shirts???
b.) Why are you the only store in this county I can purchase clothes from.
c.) Are there warrants out to arrest you folks for robbing FAT PEOPLE!!!!!!
Of course I said all this with a smile and good humor.
OK I am getting a little winded typing this here....as I am a smidgen over weight!
Long and short of it is I am working on getting back into the 200s (lbs) and my goal for this journal is to log certain facets of my progress, failures, exercise and diet, as well as have it in my face all the time since I am always looking at K4L!!

Way to go JCarmello
Everything that you measure improves (I think I've said it before...)
Could you be a little bit more specific as to where in the 200's you are planning to be?
Looking forward to follow your journey and to see your progress at BobH's camp

Thanks for including us on the ride JC. You know this already, but you get a built in support system when posting your journal on K4L!

You can do it Joe!
I went from 285+ to now 222 lbs.
Trying to get down to 195-205 range myself.
It is not easy but if you really want it you can.
Intervals/Bag Training and better eating have been the keys for me.
If you want any advise feel free to ask me here or on FB.

OSU Joe,
Have a look at this article: http://www.torontosun.com/news/toron.../16894781.html
The coach,Chris St. Johns, is a friend of mine and was the top body builder in Canada in 2000. He now works as a counselor, lifestyle coach and combines that with training for person transformation.
It can be done and within a short timeframe. I really wish you the best results from this.
OSU.

Good luck Joe. Just try and stick too it. You know it'll take time, don't be too hard on yourself.

Wow!! I did not expect such a huge response of support!! Amazing and inspiring.
I really really appreciate all your kind words and thank you for your support here!!
Now as for my first milestone reaching 299 lbs LOL!!! I hope to achieve this by mid April at the very latest.
Today since I was tied down to the desk all day...(as usual lately!) I left for a walk at lunch time and walked for a half an hour. At first it was brisk, but then I started focusing on my breathing at the same time and settled into a reasonable pace.
When I returned to the office I stretched in the loading dock, the headed inside the warhouse for a few minutes kicking the heavy bag............and it ended almost as soon as it started as my right ankle gave during a mawashi geri......soooooo I reserved my self to 100 punches each hand on the canvas sand pad. Back to work! The rest of the evening was dedicated to the kids (Taxi Dad - and Supply Clerk!).
Tomorrow I am looking to take half the day to work on Kata and some more walking. I will also spend some time writing out a diet plan to help myself move along. Of course more Dad stuff tomorrow evening......so no Dojo
Again, I can not thank you all enough for your kind words and support. It really makes me smile......and if I had any chocolate cake left......well.....I would share a picture of it with all of you!!!!!

I started off at 350ish pounds, so I know full well where you're coming from. Plus, I've lost 70ish pounds so far even being as lazy as I am, so I'm sure you'll do it a lot faster than I have.

That is awesome! I have been 355lbs in the past and got down to about 275 for one day! Then put on 20 lbs over a summer and have steadily increased for the last few years or so (5-6 years?). For me it has been so many life changes, through in a business life, a mid life crisis (some times its a mid day crisis.) and whammo! Add a few pharmaceuticals to the mix and the swelling got out of hand.

Hey Joe, good for you. I found everyone's encouragement and support on here fantastic when I was losing weight and it looks like you'll get the same! Looking forward to seeing your progress in the coming weeks.

I'll be rooting for you! Remember to drink plenty of water, it does a great job of flushing the toxins while you're losing the weight.
