Squashing the bug - Ball of Foot Rotation on Base Leg
Osu!
I have developed a small, nagging pain on the ball of my right foot from rotations on the ball of my foot from high volume kicking.
It's nothing that I cannot work through, but it sort of twinges a little when I push off my back for punching, kicking etc.
I don't think anything is broken. No swelling. No Bruising. Just a slight twinge of pain when I push off on it.
Have any of you experience the same?

If hitting the bag at home I am on concrete. I just put down some carpet with no padding.
At the KP Gym we have a make shift ring that is basically 4 ring posts, 3 ropes, and then mats with a carpet on top. Everything else is puzzle mats.

Could be a deep tissue bruise or a bone spur. Both will heal over time. Just have to be patient and not push too hard.

That sounds like a very unusual injury. You may want to rest it and reevaluate how you pivot and if you're overstraining some part or applying more tension than you should when you kick. Taking a close look at the surface where you train is not bad advice either. Osu

LMAO I laughed when i read this, but yes the big toe is shorter than the second one.
On an interesting note, no injury on the ball of my foot on my left leg from the orthodox stance.
I wonder if this has anything to do with rotation on the ball of the foot from pronation and supination.

Nothing mysterious, Dent. It's just that certain foot types are prone to imbalances and sore spots.

At first I thought it was a condition of pronation. It is not an unbearable, debilitating pain so I will just see what turns out.
Thanks again Meguro.

Yep. Recently, in fact.
I've been doing a lot of kicks with the Muay Thai guys where I train. I'm fine on the mat, but when I move to concrete flooring I have the pain issue.
Took this weekend off and it seems to be doing fine.
