21st Annual American International Championship in Rochester NY
The 21st Annual American Championship will take place on October 1st in Rochester NY. Following is the link with all the information about the competition.
http://uskyokushin.com/event_2011-10-01.htm
I will fight in this event, and was hoping to fight in the men's heavyweight division, but it turns out that being 34 y.o., I'm considered a Senior Being called a senior is a bit concerning, but I will have to live with it.

OSU,
Sandman.
Thank you for the encouraging and supportive words. I'm taking the above advice to heart, and will also make sure to change the batteries of the pacemaker.
Joke aside I hope it turns out to be a strong event with many competitors, and hopefully there will be some more K4Lers there.

Osu! I hope the same - it's too far away for me, but I'll look forward to reading about your victories and the K4L meet up.

Osu,
Yordan, have you competed there before or have attended the event? I noticed that the tournament has branched out to include grappling and kickboxing? Do you know how this is received or is this a sign of times to come that promoters won't be able to attract knockdown fighters only but will have to include others as in this case?

Osu,
I know it sounds crazy, 32 y.o. senior. Next thing, kids will start retireing after high school. Me thinks that wouldn't help the economy much

OSU,
I believe that it may be possible. I'll have to check with the organizers. Will post info, when I have an answer.

OSU,
We have gone to this event many times. You can enroll into the under 32 if you wish even if you're older. Just not the other way around.

Osu!
I may be there as it is my sons birthday weekend and I want to buy him a beer as he will be 21 years old!!! (he is just west of Rochester) BUTTTTTTT My daughter is on the school soccer team and that seems to be every spare minute we have as of late.....so I am not sure. Add to that I am off to Kansas City/Independence Missouri the next weekend for the Iain Abernathy Seminar. I wonder how my darling wife will muster support for my expeditious martial art expenditures.

We have the Kyokushin Kan tournament Oct 15th right here in CT. It makes the Rochester tournament impractical. I would go just to visit, but the expenses rack up quickly.
Joe, that's awesome that you are going to the Abernethy seminar. I'm definitely there. Will call you about a car-mate/room mate for you!

Osu! I left a voice mail on your cell. I just booked the room and pay-pal the seminar fee. Let me know, as the room is a double!!

We're coming...
Osu! I will be bringing 4-5 teenage students from my dojo to participate in the youth semi contact divisions. I will also be competing again this year.

Waiting a due time with patience builds our character. My students are looking forward to the experience. My main goal is to show them the community of kyokushin. After the experience last year, I think that my students will have a great time!

I saw a tournament poster that said this event was being televised? Anyone have the scoop there?
