Sosai Oyama and Legendary Bull Fights

In the videos that I have seen of Sosai Oyama and his legendary fights with bulls, I can't help but wonder that the bulls depicted didn't seem all that ferocious. In fact, someone on YouTube even commented on one of the videos that "the bulls are pacificists." As amusing as that sounds, I wondered too if this was one of those stories that just got out of hand in Kyokushin legend and lore.

One thought that comes to mind is the Spanish matadors. The matadors purposely use a red cape to taunt the bulls into a charge. With Sosai Oyama walking up to a bull with nothing but shorts on, I can't help wonder if these bulls knew what Sosai Oyama had in mind.

I'm interested in what others think. Osu!!

You will never get a definative answer to this, people will believe what they want to believe,we will never know the number or condition of his victims,i can see how a desire to deify our leader has lead to distortion and exageration of his feats its not Sosai's fault its ours .
As to breaking a cows horn they are hollow and the back wall is thinner than the front so i guess its a case of knowledge as well as power .

I guess one way to look at this is, would you go up to a bull wearing no more than shorts and pick a fight? I'll pass. Sosai Oyama is still my hero.

i believe some of the footage is not of the actual fight, but a restaging of the scene (this was in one of Sosai's books)
