May 26th 2012 - Maine USA - 10th Annual United States Kyokushin Open

10TH ANNUAL UNITED STATES KYOKUSHIN OPEN

Dear Shihan, Sensei and Sempai,
>
>I would like to formally invite you to the 10th Annual United States
Kyokushin Open which will be held on May 26th, 2012. The Open will be
held at the Grand Summit Resort Hotel & Conference Center, Sunday River
Resort, Bethel. Maine. This will be our second time at the Resort. It
is a beautiful Resort with all the amenities that you need. Bring your
swimming suits because they have a heated outdoor pool just to mention
one of the great benefits of staying at the Resort.
>
>Luckily this years tournament does not fall on any other major
tournaments to the best of my knowledge. With that said I'm hoping to
have a great showing at this years tournament.
>
>As always the United States Kyokushin Open is open to all styles and
all Kyokushin Groups. As we had last year we will hold a tournament
during the day for kids and adults in Kata Categories and Semi Contact
fighting. The tournament will start at 10:00 am. Depending on how many
bare knuckle fighters we have, if we run short as before I will run the
adult Semi Contact Divisions at the night time event.
>
>Rules will be made available on the official website of the
tournament; www.uskyokushinopen.com Please give us a week or so to put
the rules up. Just for your information there is no major rule changes.
The rules will be basic Kyokushin-kan tournament rules.
>
>I will award custom medals for the kata divisions and trophies for the
fighting divisions. My ultimate goal is that win or lose, everyone has
a great time. With that said, I will make it my responsibility to see
that every child leaves with a medal or trophy.
>
>I don't have a real strong email list. I ask that if you know someone
who would like to attend or you think they might like to attend, I ask
if you would forward a copy of this email and attachments to them.
>
>Attachments. Attached are three documents. One is the application
and another is general information about the tournament. The last
document is the tournament poster. All are PDF files and you should
have no problem opening them. If would like a poster to hang in your
dojo please send me an email with your mailing address and I will send
you a full color print poster.
>
>Pre-registration. Pre-registration will save you $15.00 per
applicant. This is done to get a general idea on how many trophies and
medals will be needed for the event. As I stated above, I will make
sure that every child receives a trophy or medal. But I need to know
the numbers before hand. Please help me out on this as I will do the
same for you.
>
>I look forward to seeing you in May and if there are any questions
that you need answered please do not hesitate to to call me at (207)
890.6724 or email me at mkka12@yahoo.com OSU!

Not as much as I'd like!

(And not nearly as much as my Dad. Past retirement age for most, and he's on another business trip to Singapore, Philippines and Australia.)

Still much more than most will ever do. Starting my own this year as baby is now much bigger so lesser responsibilities.

I was chatting to him about a month ago - he mentioned his car that had a major breakdown - didn't mention the travels. Lucky guy!

Let us know when you'll be arriving!

That's because I have to know where he's going, in case he needs me to bail him out!

Osu Spirit,

I input your event for you in the Calendar, and fixed the title with date and location so that K4L community members can find it easily.

Two good reasons to input your events early in the K4L Calendar.

@Satodojo, do we have your event planned for the week before?

I have another commitment. I'll see if it's possible to fit in both.

Great, thank you.
You can start a dedicated thread in the events section of the forum and input the info in the K4L Calendar to alert the community

Will do that, but don't have the USA as yet - need more time for that to do justice to the many friends I have to visit ...
