Plans & goals for 2007

A big osu to all the ladies on the forum!

What are your plans or goals that you want to achieve in the year ahead?

Me personally im competing again in all available competitons kata first, clicker (non-contact). Hopefully represent my national team again as i did in 2006 for clicker. Yes i'll go for the knockdown again, our first tournament will be in june. I have my head in a sports psychology book which i got for christmas trying to overcome my demons! (Thanks to auntyichigeki) . What does the future year hold for the rest of you?

Osu!!

Nice thread. So pleased you're reading that book Lucy - hope it works for you .

I'm very confused what to do in 2007. I do know I want to win the BJJ NZ Nationals (I came second this year & found that VERY motivating!) and I'm supposed to fight in a mixed event in April fighting Kyokushin standup but with takedowns & grappling too (Kyokushin-MMA!) & I'm dead keen for that but not sure how I'm supposed to get in condition with hubby planning to fight in the World Senior Men's tourny in early April. I want to see him do that & would like to go with the team to Tokyo but not sure we can afford both of us to go. Also if I do pay to go I might regret not fighting in the Women's Worlds? Not sure we can both train for a Worlds simultaneously with 2 kids & business to run AND then there's a nidan grading to think about possibly as early as April!! Fight training isn't great prep for THAT! Can't do it ALL! Might not be hanging out in the forum so much

Osu ladies,

Might as well put down my goals.
If all goes well (ie. no injuries), I'm going to try and grade for 1st kyu in July, then shodan in December.

Last year my fitness improved alot and I'm hoping this year I can improve it even more. Will be doing lots of stamina work, conditioning, endurance etc.

Our shodan gradings usually go for about 8 hours. Starting from 10am til around 6pm. They're gruelling and very intense, so I'm going to make sure I'm ready for it when the time comes.

Will maybe think about entering a few knockdown events throughout the year, but grading training will come first.

Ok, here another female, just joined though and I'm a bit hesitant to post coz you seem like the fighter I'm aspring to be...but what the heck, got to start someday ;-)
Plans for 07 are for me like always ever changing since i'm quite injury-prone and even managed to fight my last fight with a broken arm... (sensei was a bit upset about that...) but if all goes well, I'm doing my 2. Kyu in the summer in the German-Summer Camp, in the middle of february the diamond cup challenge (though i just was able to start training again, so i'm not sure how that will go, since i heard it's a though field) and maybe European Championship in April and apart from that who knows what competition'll come up, hopefully more knockdown ;-). Guess that sums it up. Wish you all the best for ur gradings and tournaments!

Osu Hungheykwun

Sorry to hear about your arm...sounds pretty nasty! I hope that it heals soon! I don't know much about broken bones but drink more milk if your prone to fractures easily! Im 26, definately get more injuries as you get older and they take longer to heal! Need to warm up for longer and thoroughly. Where abouts do you you come from?
