Question EC 2007 - EKO/WKO - who is your favourite?

hi all,

please let us know, what your favourites are at the upcoming european champs in lithuania. ec will show us, how the europeans are prepard for world champs in october - first time with female championships.

here are my list:

for men:

lightweight: dont´know at this time a favourite, cause popov from bulgaria has changed to middleweight.

middleweights: yes, popov, collin (swe), haverkamp (nl) and proc from lithuania.

lightheavy: very easy... dimitrov from bulgaria

heavy: jacobsen from denmark and torok from hungary are not listed. so imbras will be the favourite...

for female:

lightweight: motzer and bartok from hungary, lommer from germany

middle: abraham from hungary and ciuplyte from lithuania

haeavy: szovetes (hun), atanasova (bg) and, of course if she would show a good spirit with no fear against big names erkelenz from sweden.

let´s know your opinion. ;-)

OSU!

LW - hard to predict many great fighters. My podium picks Kim Holm (Denmark), Gabor Rozas (Hungary), Lasha Kchachapuridze (Georgia) and Andrius Miseckas (Lithuania). But, the draw will of course matter and as always anything can happen. However, I really think Kim Holm will make the top four this year, he is a great fighter!!

MW Agree with you and also add Andsej Milevskij and Christian Christiansen as top contenders! Milush Draganov (Bulgaria) is aslo a very strong fighter. The middle weight will be very interesting this year as there are so many strong names.

HW Noone can challenge Valeri Dimitrov! Rest of the medals? Strong canidates are Mindaugas Pavilionis and Darius Gudauskas.

SHW Donatas Imbras will win. Then it is hard to predict.

I go for Vytautas Kalvaitis (Lithuania) in the lightweight, if doesn't get injury, he has some brilliant timing.
Agree on middleweight, and hope Proc can get a fight with Collin
In Heavyweight, I just hope that Gudauskas and Pavilionis can bring some surprise for Dimitrov, I bet they are prepearing for that
In Super Heavyweight all is clear, Donatas Imbras, and then straight to the WT title

@greede: seems to me, like you are a lituanian.

don´t know your leightweight. i agree with you, proc (if he get not tired from jumping, when both fighters has to stand in fudo dachi... ), has good chances, but at this time i don´t know how he would fight against a heavy puncher like popov.

your both lightheavys go down last european tournament, knocked out by dimitrov. so i think they try not to go this way. dimitrov is nearly unbeatable. he is, in my opinion, like an "instinct fighter" - he always knows, what his oponent will do... in addition, i never saw him warming up last european tournament...

@alan

i agree with you, christiansen, the reigning champ, is also a contender for the title. today i saw desmedt from france is listed - another name. there are so many names in mw... the romanian team is not listed at this time. how was the name of the former european champ from there? let´s add his name. he fights last year very well and goes out on split decission...

knowing now his name: marius ilas

OSU!
