Over the past four years, I've taken a liking to Japanese music artists.
I don't care if I don't understand it. It sounds fantastic.

I really don't like J pop but there are a lot of cool japanese experimental/progressive rock/metal/dub/reggae/ska, jazz/avant-garde bands such as Ruins, Melt Banana, Dry And Heavy, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Yona Kit, Koenjihyakei, Rovo, Korekyojin, Zubi Zuva, Acid Mothers Temple, Zeni Geva, Boredoms. I'm also into traditional minzoku bands such as Kodo, Yamato and Amanojaku. You can find some videos of these bands on youtube for sure. If you're into the avant gard New York music downtown scene you may like some of these bands. Let me tell you that some of these bands are not easylistening for those who are just used to MTV/pop music. But still i advise you take a look at it.
