20 questions!

A little open discussion game to get to know your fellow K4L posters.

Way it works... Person above you answers the question from the person above him. After answering the above person's question, he/she will then ask a question for the person below him to answer. So on and So Forth...

Rules:

- Keep it clean
- Keep it PG-13
- As much as possible, try to stay away from questions related to politics (Karate and Government) or Religion
- Have FUN!

Answer: The reason why I started it was to give people that are bored at work, school, etc etc to have something to talk about Also it's a great way for K4L.com members to get to know each other.

Question: "What is the latest movie you've seen?"

Answer: Best excercises for shoulders must be military press and lateral raise. In your case you of course need to start with lighter weights.

Question: Do you think finishing "Hyakunin Kumite" or winning the open weight world tournament is a more spectacular achievement in Kyokushin?

OSU!

Question: Did you ever lose or almost lose it in the dojo ?
Answer: All the time. We die everytime in the dojo reborn into something greater than what we once were. I've thought about quitting in the midst of hardest training sessions. That feeling was quickly replaced with the sense of humiliation if I were to quit and a stronger feeling of OSU to persevere through it all. Now everytime before classes I try to ,"Get my mind right." Ready to die.

Question:
Have you ever been knocked out during kumite? If so, describe how it felt?

Answer: Almost - I got caught with a Jodan Mawashi over my right eye and I dropped to my knees. I stood up and everyone was looking at me - I thought I was sweating a lot but I was bleeding quite a lot. Next thing I know I feel really woozy and two people are holding me up. Felt weird like falling asleep instantly.

Question: Whats the funniest thing you have ever seen at a Knockdown tournament?

I can't remember which tournament it was - maybe the All Japan. I wasn't there, but I saw the videos afterward ...not sure if that counts for this thread... Anyway, Garry O'Neill was fighting this big, agro fighter, who came tearing across the tatami at him with a huge windup and a massive kiai. The guy threw a big kick with a great yell. Garry either deflected it or wore it, but it had no impact. He looked over to his corner coach, shrugged his shoulders, and put his hands palms up in a "what the hell was that" kind of gesture. He then looked back at his opponent, and threw a single punch without a sound (I think it was a punch)..knocked the guy down and he didn't get back up. IPPON.

It was hilarious. So matter-of-fact. So Garry.

Question: What happened to you on your first attempt at Tamashiwari?

Answer: It certainly created an additional interest in learning about Japanese culture and history for me - oddly I've found this forum is strengthening that interest.

Question: How many times did you train last week?

Outside of English, I can get by in Japanese and Mandarin Chinese. I also have 2 years of high school Spanish and can say a couple funny things in Thai, Portuguese, and Korean.
