This is sanctioned by the USKBA. The Sogo will follow a 10 point must system. USKBA will have their judges work the event.

uskba hosts grappling, kickboxing, mma, sport karate, sambo and many more styles of combat all the time. As a matter of fact, the USKBA world championships is coming this october. That is their multi-martial arts tournament and will be featuring kyokushin.

I really like the idea of the "TAKEMICHIKAIKAN KARATE RULES"! That sounds like good fighting! I really like the idea of 5 seconds for clinch/throw/grapple...good challenge for the fighters to get in, try for submission and get out. And good for the spectaters, who are not always interested in seeing two men roll around on the floor all night.
It would be cool if IKO1 added those rules to its syllabus! (IMHO)
I would would enter, but im on the other side of the world!
Just gonna keep training and try be ready for our dojos next fightnight!
OSU!
PS: I wish you a successful, exciting event!!

James, Thank you for the encouraging words. I will be holding tournaments in SOGO KARATE.
The Name TAKEMICHIKAIKAN KARATE is the style of the sport known as Sogo Karate which is approved in New York thanks to Mark Negron of the Battle of Brooklyn....which will be held on october 20th @ gleasons gym in Brooklyn
Well, the grappling aspect is only 30 seconds on the ground. No matter what happens, the action will be stood up if no submission is applied within 30 seconds

This is a great opportunity for fighters in the Knockdown community to get a chance to display their Grappling skills as well. Also a good opportunity to be part of a new sport in NYC. tickets are $30 and $10 goes back to the fighters for any tickets that they sell.
