Kyokushin Vs Traditional Karate Trainning

I was wondering,

Did Sosai invented a "new karate" when he was developing Kyokushin, or he actually returned to the karate origins?
I think karate always were a very eficient fighting art, but got weaker and weaker, until Sosai Oyama developed kyokushin and turned karate strong again.
What do you guys think, Kyokushin is a new art (diferent from other karate styles) or it is the real traditional karate?

Yes. Eventhough kyokushin is slightly taditional I always hear that Oyama broke away from tradidtional karate in ordor to train harder.
However, it still holds the philosophy of it's basis goju ryu and shotokan with the added philosophy of full cantact and everything else that makes kyokushin grand. OSU!

I dont think that he was trying to create a new karate of style, I think he wanted to explore the true power and true essence of karate-do. Sosai once stated that his one and true Sensei was Funakoshi, who did not like the kumite fighting aspect of karate. Funakoshi would turn his back when ever his son would take over the class because the young and strong always wanted to test their skill. The Karate was not getting weaker, there were too many rules in competition that hindered those wished to feel the true power of karate, Like Sosai. Other than that, to Sosai, like Funakoshi...It was just Karate, no lables, logos or style, just karate.

I agree. Funakoshi stated that there should be just one karate. OSU!
