Wondering aloud who you really are KnuckleHeader...

and yes, you sold me on wanting to read the book... well done!

No excuses Fred, I should use spell check. As for my grammar, I guess my
herk and jerk writing, comes from being a High scool dropout(got GED), then a Community College dropout. I would actually like to take some classses to rectify my writing skills. I'll take the "puzzingly rich..." and run wit dat...

I have just finished reading John Banvilles "The Infinities" and sorry I started it. Having read some of his other books this dissappoints hugely.

That being said I wandered into a bookstore in Galway at the weekend and picked up several of Seamus Heaney. So right now Im reading "The Haw Lantern"

I'm reading "My Journey in Karate The Sabaki Way" by Kancho Ninomiya and am enjoying it immensely. I almost feel a bit guilty I received this book for free because it really is an excellent read.

I was talking to Milkman about this earlier but after reading through almost half of this book I gained even more respect for Kancho Ninomiya. Not that I didn't have respect to begin with for him but the fact that he really did everything he could do to teach his karate.

I'm not really doing this book any justice but the way he tells his story really illustrates that he's just an "average Joe" that came from humble beginnings to live his dream of teaching his karate.

It's such an easy ready that I'll probably finish it tonight and received it Saturday at the Sabaki Challenge. I highly recommend this book if any of you have not read it yet.

Christine Falls by Benjamin Black (John Banvilles alter ego - one he should keep permanently)

Ros, you fancy the ole Errol (in like flynn) Flynn? Well....
I may have to check it out also. Look forward to you comments when completed.

A couple of weeks ago, I finished Miles. The Autobiography by Miles Davis with Quincy Troupe.

An interesting read if there was one. I actually saw him perform in Carnegie
Hall N Y C in the early mid 70's. Not a big Jazz fan, tho I do listen occassionally. This is my all time favorite,

I just started The Art of War/by Sun Tzu. Translated by Thomas Cleary

The citation is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_H._Jacobs

There's more detail in the book, but he's really using his experiences to highlight how poorly the concept of the military is used by those in government.

I have a lot of opinions on the subject, but I continue to be appalled by the lack of a cohesive and comprehensive strategy when it comes to Afghanistan and Iraq. (And any number of other brewing conflicts...) Nice to see that far better placed individuals share the same view.

I just received ashiharakaicho's karate' Odyssey"in the mailbox.
I'm going on a holiday with the wife and kid at the end of may so I'll have some time to read it on a sunny beach in Kos(Greece)
