Osu!
Please compliment him on the clips, EamonCramb. I do agree with you that Kazumi Sensei should be here though.
Thanks for posting them Asuka Ken.

Although I have seen all these clips before, its nice to see them ranked. I would have liked to see Kazumi there maybe as #10. Osu!

Any "top 10" without one of the greatest low kickers, Kazumi Sensei, is seriously flawed (imho), but still....nice clips.Osu

I agree wholeheartedly. I would have had Kazumi, Ademir Da Costa (who paved the way for Filho [who in turn paved the way for Feitosa]), Norichika Tsukamoto (imo one of the best fighters in any organisation), and Kenji Yamaki somewhere in there. AND WHERE THE HELL WAS WILLIE WILLIAMS!
But I think with so many legends in different generations of the rich history of kyokushin (and its related styles), don't think anyone's top ten list would be satisfactory. But I'm pretty sure Sosai would be number 1 on all of them.

OSU !!!
I loved the Feitosa, Midori, Filho,, Hug and Matsui clips the best.....i wasn't too impressed with the nakamura selection, i don't like how he fights..thompson wasn't bad at all (loved that kick during 0.26-0.30 seconds)......matsui was really good also he's got Great Form

Trying to pick a top ten is like eating ice cream though. Some days you like Rocky Road, and some days it's Mango Raspberry. Even our own tastes vary, and sometimes I love watching the spectacular kicks, and sometimes I like clinical combinations.

Exactly. Altough, I miss Ryu Narushima, Tsukamoto and Valeri Dimitrov. They should be there ;-)

Just my opinion but I would have liked to see Tsukamoto in the list instead of Kiyama. And yes where is Kazumi???
It was my first time seeing any footage of Nakamura fighting, he sure was a big bruiser back in the day..!

Well, to choise top 10 is a hard task. Some of great fighters will be out of list. Ademir da Costa is a great name, Akira Masuda,Kazumi and others.
I'm so sorry the fans of Midori Kenji Shihan but he lost his fighties against Kurosawa and Sichinohe at that world tournament. And, think, after take 2 jodan mawashis by Masuda at the final, is he really the champion ??
Please, note, i don't want to take off the credits of anyone.
And Sosai is not necesarly to figure in this list. He is "hors concours".

You have to give respect to the guy. Nakamura is the only one so far to win the world open twice. In the words of Shihan Martin Marlborough of Scotland... "fighting is not pretty, just drop him as quick as you can by any means necessary". Having said that, it would be nice to see a top 10 list of the best kyokushin bruisers , forget "Form", think "toe to toe"...now that would be something.

I think you're onto something niceguy, perhaps top 10s like:
- Best Technique
- Best Spirit
- Best Kickers
- Best Punchers
Etc... sounds like a lot of work though!

Nice one Dent - I would volunteer but my knowledge of fighters is far from encyclopedic!
Besides all the fights I ever watch are mainly from YouTube. I'm sad to say I haven't had the opportunity to get my hands on a complete World Tournament (or similar) DVD.

Dent is a devil isn't he ?
If you could get your hands on any one of the World Opens make it the 4th one. Most of the "legends" were present. Grrrrrrreat fights!
