The perfect fighter

Now I know mental attitude and training have a lot to do with fighting ability but is there such a formula for the perfect fighter?

Does he (all or she btw) need big arms, big thighs, big??? does he need to be able to do the splits, 6' or 5' tall which is better.

Sure we can all compete but if you added together all the Champions from around the World is there any common themes?

Technique and speed come to mind over most of any of the others.

Osu!

I'd say that the physical attributes are very important, but more so is the willingness to use them.

osu! very true...you can look at darren stringer, as small as you like and as good as it gets......sorry ladies but size doesn`t matter

whatevers people size and build there are techniques for everybody, that is the beauty of kyokushin.

A good "Osu!" attitude, smart use of technique, and some degree of physical fitness will take anyone far, in my humble opinion!

the perfect fighter cannot be determinate by his/her physical looks like "big thigs", "long arms", etc.

I think that perfect fighter would me one who can turn so-called-by-other-people-around disadvantages into advantages and possibilities to win with opponent.

I believe the perfect fighter is the one that can accurately execute techniques with perfect timing. Size does not really matter. Osu!

I guess if it should be the PERFECT Fighter, then he would combine all the elements to make him perfect like the perfect balance of physical attributes (size for range, speed and strength), perfect technique, a lot of experience and of course the willingness

i think all in all it is also a lot about well trained instincts, not only to react, but to react in the exact right way...

I don't think it's possible, perfect means without mistakes, unfailable, so what you guys are talking about is an unbeatable fighter, under any circumstance or rule.
Now, the best is another question aswell, but in my opinion, both don't exist.

I agree, although you may on occassion have the perfect fight, or as near as possible, but that can be as much down to your opponent as your own ability.
As for the best... you are only as good as your last performance.

I wasn't being quite that deep ...

I was thinking more of the perfect 'build' rather than ability or attitude etc.

Osu! tmd,

I have noticed that a lot of the good kd fighters are, how can I put it, uuuhm, let´s say 'heavy' around the hips! This I think gives them a strong and low centre of gravity. Maybe something you can work on without even getting up from the couch!

Sounds like a plan but my 'natural storage system' is not on my hips but more to the front .

Right so low center of gravity, it's a start.

Basically what I'm getting at is if you analyzed all these fighters do they have common physical traits? A lot of the Guys I can recognize here are around 5'10", naturally about 85-95 Kgs (190-210 lbs) and are what you'd call I guess 'stocky build'? Immensely strong legs, great flexibility to deliver a huge array of kicks and powerful shoulders and arms to deliver short range devastating blows.

Sure there are extremes but I think somewhere in here is the answer to what is the right build for a knockdown fighter...
