Nice, if I wasn't still recovering I probably would have competed in this again.

Welp, as I tell my wife and students, it's just to have fun, challenge myself, and meet new people. I'm too old to try to make a career out of it. So,whatever happens, I just plan to have fun! But I hope I am all out of bubble gum that day!

Awesome tournament. Now I'm looking forward to the seminar with Hanshi Taylor. I'll try and post the full results tonight when I have a computer (too much typing for the iPhone!). Congrats to Medguy, he fought one of my sensei's in the final and it was a great battle!

Congrats medguy! Did Gustavo compete this year in heavyweight? If so, how'd he do? He's a tough guy.

So i took third in the men's middleweight division and 2nd in men's over 35 division which ended up being all heavyweights--and me.
I ended up fighting 6 fights in about 2.5 hours, winning four and losing 2 to judges decisions.
NObody scored any points on me and I won on either ippon, judges decision, or ref stoppage.
All in all, a good day.
I will post video as soon as I figure out how to do it.

My first fight. I had first fight jitters and after watching this on video i am glad the judges awarded me the win in overtime because it could have gone either way. Dang those jitters!
