Osu,

I trust that you are doing well? Haven't chatted to you in a while. How are you and how is the dojo going? Developed your kata yet? Would love to see what you've done.

Are you still in touch with Sensei Rutter? Is your website down as I could not access it.

Want to join us for our 30th Anniversary training and tournament?

OSU, Kaicho

We're doing well, especially since I changed the name and moved locations.

I have been really busy in the home life, I'm going to be a Dad again in December and my new fiancée is from the Philippines (I'm looking to emigrate there soon). Will be getting married soon too.

I've not spoke to Sensei Barry for many years now I hope he is doing well. I think its since our ethos to karate changed as with yourself you use traditional kata within the syllabus so do I etc

With regards to the new kata I have added Kuri Tora no kata sono Ichi onto my facebook page for Koku Tora Karate.

With regards to Bunkai I worked into the kata many variations for example within Shoshin no kata sono ichi I "discovered" 3 neck breaks.

The Website is down I am in the middle of creating a new website for Black Tiger karate

That's good to hear.

Congratulations on both counts and emigrating? That's a big step - what happens to your students at your dojo? Do you have a high ranking student that can carry on?

I haven't been in touch with him either. Actually we don't have traditional kata as part of the required syllabus. We do them as optional for those that want to - actually many of the students do learn them for competition purposes, but it is NOT required for grading.

Thanks, I followed it - pretty interesting to see the interpretation of others in Ashihara Karate. I see you follow the embusen of the Ashihara kata with the addition of a few extra moves. Some of the moves looked decidedly Ashihara.
