If you are in the area do stop by and support our kid fighters. I picked up my navy shirt and whistle over the weekend, fully prepared for some shinpan action!

Admission is $5 at the door to the festival. Tournament admission is free. Lots of authentic Japanese food stalls so bring extra cash.

There were sabaki, kata, and tameshiwari demonstrations by Ashihara USA and Yamaki Dojo, while IKO1 held our 14th L.A. Freshman Tournament. Pretty cool to see so many full contact fighters in the same premises although to my knowledge there wasn't any cooperation. Our competition was a success. We had 40+ scheduled kumites for our junior fighters and roughly 12 kata competitors. Here are the results:

Youth Intermediate Kata

1st Hironobu Hirano (Tustin Dojo)
2nd Kioto Shimamura (Torrance Dojo)
3rd Shota Tsuzaki (Tustin Dojo)

Youth Advance Kata

1st Showta Moriyama (Los Angeles Dojo)
2nd Lana Granow (Manhattanbeach Dojo)
3rd Tokio Shimamura (Torrance Dojo)

Boys 6 years

1st Estefano Megerdichian (Burbank Dojo)
2nd Tomoki Shimizu (Tustin Dojo)
3rd Ryuki Ebata (Los Angeles Dojo)

Girls 6-7 years

1st Jacqueline Naito (Los Angeles Dojo)
2nd Lana Tsuzaki (Tustin Dojo)

Boys 7years

1st Yuta Seko (Tustin Dojo)
2nd Kioto Shimamura (Torrance Dojo)
3rd Kagen Christoph (Los Angeles Dojo)

Boys 8-9 years

1st Monet Garrett (West LA Dojo)
2nd Gordon Maeda (West LA Dojo)
3rd Hironobu Hirano (Tustin Dojo)

Girls 10 years

1st Jessica Naito (Los Angeles Dojo)
2nd Sarah Watanabe (Torrance Dojo)

Boys 10-11 years

1st Yuki Ishii (Torrance Dojo)
2nd Kento Horii (Tustin Dojo)
3rd Travis Gareias (Manhattan Beach Dojo)

Giels 11~13 years

1st Lana Granow (Manhattan Beach Dojo)

Boys 12-13years

1st Nathan Mahney (Manhattan Beach Dojo)
2nd Showta Moriyama (Los Angeles Dojo)
3rd Mackenyu Maeda (West LA Dojo)

Boys 14-16 years

1st Trey Tamura (Manhattanbeach Dojo)
2nd Jack Randler (Manhattanbeach Dojo)
3rd Justin Naito (Los Angeles Dojo)
