I misunderstood the title. I was seeing "72 year old boxer and burglar".

That is only slightly better than "72 year old burglar caught in his boxers"

Wow. That was a great article.

It was a good thing he didn't try that here in my country. You see, we take care of our parents. My parents lives with me and my in-laws lives with my brother-in-law a few block away. Which means if somebody pulls a knife on my Dad and my Dad beats him up ... I will definitely rough him up some more before handling him to the police ... and considering the filipino attitude towards senior citizens ... he will get roughed-up by the police before he would see a judge.

Osu!

Yes, well done to Mr. Corti, I like it, but am I the only one thinking that the sentence was a joke? Four and a half years for attempted murder with a knife? And the guy will most probably be out in two. Makes a bit of a mockery of the so-called clamp down on knife crime!

Osu!

Hopefully the population of his institution will get to hear of this, and treat him accordingly.

Sad that it's come to this though. That the general population has to look to the criminal population for some level of punishment for people like this.

And yet, with so many abuses perpetrated by the system, I'm not confident that the system should be the supreme watchdog for society.

Remind me of an similar incident in my hometown, where two punks broke into the home of a man in his 80's, and who happened to be a FORMER PRO-BOXER

Lucky the punks didn't break into the house or the neighboring house of a bow hunter.

Lucky burglar, only sentence for 4 and half years.
He would be cane if he was caught in Singapore.

And his ass will be sorry in the lockup.

Contrast that with the recent post from Gary where the "rougher ups" were imprisoned & the "roughed up offender" set free...
