Court rules against Royama

I have heard that Royama has lost the right to use the name Kyokushin kan in a Japanese court, I think there are many 'groups' using the name Kyokushin who really shouldn't be but Royama's group is not one of them, they are a bonifide group who produce excellent karate ka.

I know this is over the Politics borderline but can we as a Kyokushin forum really ignore such news?

My read of the forum rules is that is should be okay to report the news, less so to express an opinion and definitely not to start a heated discussion.
We are family here... you know how politics & religion go around the dinner table.

I don't know but I think (at least in America) you could use any style name you wish...like shotokan, goju-ryu etc. as long as it is a main style and as such cannot be copyrighted. Maybe he just can no longer use Kyokushin-kan or Kyokushin kaikan...or a copyrighted version; something to that effect.

Thanks for the notification tmd.
FredInChina has it about right - posting information is one thing, discussion about the rights and wrongs of the situation will cross the "apolitical" boundary.
