Kata Square Horse (kiba Dachi)??
My sensei was showing me a kata that i've never seen before and he called it, "Kata Square Horse (Kiba Dachi)".

Moksou! You start off (hands to the side):
- Left foot out into a Kiba Dachi
- pick up the left foot and slide into a front stance (facing left)
- pivot on front foot and lift back foot into a cat stance (facing right)
- pick up front foot and slide into a front stance (facing right)
...
...
- end up in Kiba Dachi
and then i forgot the rest.... I do remember that it is performed on a straight line from the initial starting point and there are no punches/kicks in the kata.

Does this look familiar to anyone? If so, do you know the remainder of the steps? I don't get to see my sensei until the beginning of next week.

OSU!

Here's a quick guide to the Tekki kata in Shotokan. Is this what you're refering to? http://www.shotokankata.com/The%20Tekki%20Katas.htm

Although, it does contain many strikes and kicks - so I'm not sure it's what you are looking for.

There used to be, a long time ago, back when kyokushin was just formalized from "oyama dojo" -among with a few other katas that is not in kyokushin today. Shihan Bobby Lowe has taught Tekki as he was taught it from Oyama, at camps and so on for several years now. I hear rumors that it is about to be reintroduced as a formal kata in the Matsui group, certanly it already is in some local branches..
